What is secondary infertility?
Female InfertilityAnswer
At SCI Hospital, we define secondary infertility as a situation where a couple has successfully conceived and had one or more children together in the past, but they are now finding it difficult to get pregnant again, despite trying for a year (or six months if the woman is 35 or older). The reasons for secondary infertility can be varied and are often similar to those for primary infertility (difficulty conceiving the first time).
These causes might have developed since the last pregnancy and can affect either the male partner, the female partner, or both. It's a common issue, and we can help investigate the potential causes.
