ABOUT

About Treatment

If you are facing urological issues, you must come to SCI International hospital. We offer advanced treatment for all kinds of urological concerns under one roof.

What We Treat?

We have all the experience and expertise to treat various issues of the urinary tract with our best diagnostic and treatment plan. You may approach us for issues, such as:
  • Urinary Incontinence: Involuntary leakage of urine, which can result from weakened pelvic floor muscles or other underlying conditions.
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Common bacterial infections in the urinary system often causing painful urination.
  • Kidney Stones: Hard mineral and salt deposits that form in the kidneys and can lead to severe pain when they pass through the urinary tract.
  • Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Prostate gland enlargement in aging men, leading to urinary symptoms such as frequent urination and difficulty in starting and stopping the flow.
  • Erectile Dysfunction (ED): The inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse, often linked to various physical and psychological factors.
  • Pelvic Organ Prolapse: Weakening of pelvic floor muscles causing organs like the bladder, uterus, or rectum to drop or prolapse into the vaginal canal.
  • Prostatitis: Inflammation of the prostate gland, which can be caused by infection or other factors, leading to pain and urinary symptoms.
  • Urethral Stricture: Involves scarring that narrows the urethra, causing urinary flow problems, potentially leading to complications in the urinary tract.
  • Varicocele: Vein enlargement in the scrotum due to blood circulation, potentially leading to discomfort and fertility issues.
  • Male Infertility: Inability of a man to impregnate his partner due to several reasons like low sperm count, abnormal sperm structure, poor sperm motility, low testosterone levels, etc.

If you have any of these issues, call us!

How We Treat?

The various surgical procedures undertaken by our Uro-surgeons include:
  • Vasectomy: Is a male contraceptive method to interrupt sperm flow by cutting and sealing the tubes responsible for transporting sperm.
  • Laparoscopy Urology: A minimally invasive surgery using a laparoscope aimed at treating urological issues.
  • Cystectomy: Removes part or all of the bladder, primarily for treating bladder cancer, often involving creation of an alternative urinary passage.
  • Ureteroscopy: Addresses kidney stones by passing a ureteroscope through the urethra, bladder, and ureter to locate and treat the stone.
  • Urethroplasty: Repairs scar tissue in the urine channel, aiming to increase its size and improve urine flow from bladder to penis.
  • Prostate Surgery: Removes part or all of the prostate, treating prostate cancer or benign prostatic hyperplasia, often through surgical incision and gland removal.
  • Penile Prosthesis: Comprises two artificial cylinders filled with fluid to facilitate erection by being implanted under the skin within penile erection parts.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Medical and Surgical Services

For any queries regarding the surgeries and treatments, go through this FAQ section.

The procedure, conducted under general or spinal anesthesia, typically lasts under 30 minutes. Your surgeon will use a rigid telescope (cystoscope) to examine the urethral narrowing.
You can go home on the same day and resume light activities of daily life within 3 to 5 days after the surgery.
You may do light exercises but must avoid strenuous ones. Walking is highly encouraged after surgery and is one of the best exercises.
After the Urethrotomy surgery, some amount of pain and discomfort are expected. Burning or stinging sensation during urination is also common.
Being unable to urinate after surgery could be due to secondary bleeding or blockage due to clots. This may need immediate medical attention.
Other options to consider instead of undergoing Urethrotomy are:
  • Balloon dilation
  • Open surgery (if the urethral narrowing is severe)
